How did SHIFFA Charity UK come about?
We are a fully registered charity that started as a small non-profit family run endeavour.
In 2015 we donated our late parents’ ancestral home to set up an orphanage in Kotla Arab Ali Khan (KAAK), rural northern Punjab, Pakistan .
We were concerned about the best way to help those most in need by using any assets we had by the grace of Allah in the most noble way, earning perpetual blessings ( sadaqa jaariya) for all who contributed.
The answer was obvious, to give of yourself, your wealth, your time, your assets, your hearts, your souls. Just give in the name of a greater good, a greater cause, a greater love, to give in the name of humanity.
What is our mission?
We aim to help the underprivileged and neglected in a poor region near our ancestral roots. With this in mind we started our journey in 2015, towards meeting our vision.
With the Grace of God and many generous donations the orphanage project was completed successfully in 2016.
Nurulain Sharif Trust (NAST) houses 20 children (10 girls and 10 boys). They are looked after by dedicated staff 24 hours a day. The orphanage children attend excellent schools where they receive a high quality education. They are also provided with in-house quality education on Islamic manners and etiquette by qualified teachers.
NAST is their home where they are nurtured by dedicated staff (carefully selected by us) to blossom into caring young people enlightened in the values of the Deen learned through Sunnah in action.
Another venture we have successfully run is a seasonal one during Ramadan. We provide food packs and rations to the neediest people in the locality during the Holy Month.
Our current project is the most ambitious yet. The building of Jamiah Anayah (JA) a school providing higher level education for bright underprivileged young ladies. During Ramadan in 2020, thanks to the generous donations via a go fund me page we managed to speed up the build. As a result, the shell of the structure is now complete. Our aim is to complete the build by the Summer of 2022, fully equipped, resourced and with all staff recruited ready for learning. InshAllah.
What are the future plans for SHIFFA Charity UK?
Future plans include helping poor local farmers to irrigate their land to enable it to become more productive and aid their self-sufficiency.
A free primary health care centre for the needy and poor who have little or no provision currently to access modern medical facilities.
